Tagaytay Food Trip

This is is one of my memorable food trips.  It was the first out of town trip bibi and I did when we got married (aside from our honeymoon in Bohol). This was in celebration of our 2nd year wedding anniversary (Dec 2007). We rented a car with a driver and went around Tagaytay. The highlight of the our trip was our lunch at Bourn Giorno!, one of the many restaurants located at the Cliffhouse (left side of the road if you are coming from Manila). We really enjoyed the lunch because of the following - the nice view of the Taal Volcano, a romantic wooden seat with hanging curtains called the opium bed, delicious food at a very reasonable price.

Caramel apple smoothie! I liked it! And the serving was big!
Bibi enjoyed his dalandan shake as well.
Now, this is a quite a hefty serving of the Bourn Giorno's Special Insalata (salad).

Spaghetti Vongole e Gamberetti - we forgot to take a picture first before we dug in!
And finally, the steak! So big, so juicy, sarap to the bones!

The Return of the Kuting Foodie

I am back! Since I am on house arrest per doctor's advise, I now have all the time to revive my favorite blog - Food Trip! Yes, it has been years since my last post but I have some pictures of food caught on camera with my trusty cellphone which I really wanted to share (do not expect high resolution pictures since I do not have a high tech phone :)

Hopefully, I will be able to do justice in describing the food as some of the pictures were taken some time ago. But since I do not want them to be just stored in my computer's memory and eventually be deleted without sharing them, savor the mouth watering pictures!

Enjoy!

Kuting's Kitchen Trip - Labor Day

May 1, 2006 is truly a labor day for me. Kase, 3 ulam ang niluto ko =) - aside from the other household chores tulad ng paglilinis at paglalaba. Kaya, tarcrap lang siya the whole day at kain =).

Breakfast: Chicken and Corn Surprise

Kaya naging chicken and corn suprise kasi laking gulat ko na Cream of Chix and Corn pala ang nasa shelf namin at hindi Cream of Mushroom. Hehehe.

Lesson Learned: Make sure you have the right ingredients. Kung mali man, improvise!

salt and pepper
cream of chicken and corn (na dapat ay cream of mushroom)
bell pepper (kaso ala din kami nito)

1. Saute onion.
2. Add the chicken.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste (pati bell pepper kung mayroon).
4. Add the carrots and potatoes.
5. Add cream of chicken and corn. Add water (1/2 of cream)
6. Let it simmer.

Lunch: Sirloin Strips in Oyster Sauce

Blogger Note: This is another recipe courtesy of the model housemaker/event organizer ng aming mimers group =).

sirloin strips
carrots strips
oyster sauce
young corn
bell pepper (wala talaga kami nito)
chicharo (i made this optional..he he he)

1. Fry the sirloin strips in oil.
2. Stir in the carrots strips.
3. Add the oyster sauce.
5. Simmer until carrots are cooked.

Onion
Garlic
Ground beef
Sineguelas
Salt and pepper

1. Saute garlic and onion.
2. Add ground beef.
3. Add salt and pepper.
4. Add sineguelas.

(ayaw maupload ang pictures..wa!!!)
